Default Trip to South of France

My 52 plate 1.8 petrol has got 90,000 miles since new. It's been regularly serviced, and the only non-service replacements have been Battery, front springs (of course) and starter motor. It's even got the original silencer...it's running well just suffering a little worse fuel economy than a few years ago.
The question is, would you trust it for a 2,500 mile round trip, fully loaded to the Riviera? I would take out breakdown/recovery insurance as a matter of course, and I've done the journey in a variety of other cars, including this one when it was new, but I've got a nagging concern that if anything does go wrong it won't be a simple quick fix - judging by what others have experienced on this forum. Plus, Vauhall/Opel aren't everyday cars in France, so it might not be a simple local repair if the worst happens.
    Am I over-thinking this?

If it was me, it wouldn't put me off; but I'd take a few tools with me - screwdrivers, spanners, allen keys, torx keys, etc, so I could do simple adjustments en route if necessary.

Take it. Bear in mind certain European recovery will not cover you getting extracted off the peage. There are plenty of Opel franchises kicking about, might be worth a coolant flush dependant on the time of year? I clocked 41 degrees in a zafira down in Biarritz (wrong coast I know!) a few years back.

Saying that I'm flying into Nice in late April if your stuck!
