Default MesserMitch Could be back soon!

Hi Guys, Not been on for a long time, I sadly had a change in circumstances and the Vectra had to go, I just couldnt afford to run it.

Well things financially are on the way up, and I'm looking to buy a new car in the next few months. I loved the Veccy, I just need to get something that is cheaper to run. I think I'v kinda fallen in love with the Signum so can i yhave everybodys views on them? I'd be looking to get a Diesel just so its more economical to run, I believe the 1.9CDTI 150 is certainly the most powerful of them all, is this a good engine?

Your views will be greatly welcomed.

And by God it feels good to be back on the forum! ! ! ! !

Vehicle : Vectra and a Signum

Trim : top of the line in both

nice to see you back mate.. The Signum is a great car, generally considered to better put together than the vec (not my words).. As for that FIAT engine, its got plenty of owners so plenty of different viewpoints.... some good and some bad.. what you save on fuel costs can go towards to the new parts ..

    Yeah Thanks for that Nige ! ! ! !

The last thing i wanna do mate is buy a car and then have to keep replacing Parts! ! Its not all about performance but i do wanna get the best medium between performance, reliability, and running costs!

I dont wanna be in the position of putting £70 a week in petrol for our lass to go to work all week! ! ! !

I'm not the most experienced in car engines and so forth, so i thought i better ask the experts, YOU LOT!

Yeah I'd love one of them but I'm trying to think economy!!!!

Thanks for the welcome back messages too!!!

I've been told the 2.2's are the ones to avoid, I'm just so stuck! I've been reading reviews for days and it's totally split, some people say they have nothing but trouble, and some say the 1.9cdti is the way to go!!!!

    HELP!!!!

yep thats about right!, Im not & never have been 100% happy all of the time with my vec cdi 150 but who is, Ive had my fair share but an alternator, manifold, water pump & various smaller niggles isn't too bad i suppose considering i'm coming up to 8yrs & 74k with no mot failures & no parts ever brought for one, only changed the front & rear pads once! so there's plenty worse, of coarse the usual snapped spring are the norm, the sig & vec are pretty much the same when your in em so you'll be at home coming from a vec, cdti's are ok but after years of diesels mostly vx im wanting to get away & have long term reliability & something quicker!.
