Default Exhaust - Single to double??

I have a 03 2.2 SRI with single exit exhaust. Does anyone know if the twin exit exhaust from a 2.2 Direct will fit????

yip no probs mate all you will need is the y branch to take the right hand box plus the twin exit skirt . you will have to cut your exsisting exhaust to fit the y branch

So am i right in saying that i need:-

    1: A "Y" Branch
    2: Right hand box
    3: Skirt insert
    4: Heat shield
5: Get someone to modify the existing left hand box

Are all of the parts are available from the dealers??

Here is what you need, the left hand silencer is the original removed from the car, so you need the right hand box from the 2.2 direct, part number 13156933, this retails at £171.08. You will also need the Y section from Irmscher, which is about £115 and comes with the appropriate clamps and instructions. The last thing is either the VXR skirt, or the 2.2 direct SRi twin exit skirt. That is it!!

You will not need to modify your existing left hand box as the irmscher Y section will be a direct fit, just ensure you ask for a y section for the NON 2.2 direct. As original 2.2's hand only the left box, Irmscher do a Y section if you were converting to the twin irmscher box's.

The right hand heatsheild is not required, all parts are available from your dealer and takes about 25 minutes to convert.

Matt I am looking to do the same thing with my 2.2 dti but have been told you can have running problems if there is not enought back pressure, where did you get your bits and what were they off?

    Hi Matt,

    Looking at picture number 4

I can see what you mean now..... that right hand (offside) box pipe feed is much smaller than the left hand (nearside)... no wonder the 'condensation' appears more obvious through the left hand pipe as its much bigger... and less through the right hand one as its much smaller?? The size difference appears to go from the tailpipe... right through to the 'Y' section..

Wonder why they've done that ?? Are all twin pipe vectras the same setup ??

EDIT: I checked mine the other morning and I have completely even 'condensation' through both tailpipes... Does look quite good as you say !!

I fitted the same system to my 1.8 and it runs superb. Might even sound a bit better! No probs with "back pressure" or uneven flow. And it looks
    sooo good!

By the way, I have a spare twin exit skirt for sale if anyone is interested. £15 plus postage.
