Default 2005 Ford Focus Ghia 2.0

Been thinking about getting the missus an 05 focus petrol as her derv caused so many problems. Does anyone know the good and bad points about this car. Does anyone know if it has a duel mass flywheel? Any input welcome.

If it a mark 2 focus - Yup DMF. My mate has a 2.0 zetec, and it is quick though not particularly economical as the gearing is rather short, even the 6 th. handling is superb compared to a vectra though.

the handling in a focus is awesome- but the zetec engines are juicy. i had a 1.6 and it never got over 36mpg even on a long gentle run.

Have looked at the 1.6 also but have been told they are a bit under powered so have to be driven a bit harder than the larger engines inturn dropping the mpg down to larger engine level, is there any truth in this?

I don't know about that but I always though power costs an amount of fuel whether dragged out of something underpowered or teased out of something very capable. they're a great drive but Its all down to how its used. If its gonna be short runs around town and rarely getting warm properly then a small petrol is the way forward. any regular long runs make diesel the best choice IMHO
