Default Window Tinting - Easy Job??

    Afternoon All.

I'm looking to tint everything past the 'B' pillar....

I have a few rolls of tint but am wondering how hard it will be to do by myself?!?

I've seen pre-cut tints on t'interweb but being a novice I am unsure....

What's the best way to tint a Vec's rear windows??

    Thanks

I did my last car and it turned out well but it was a royal pain in the butt! It took a whole day! If any of the windows are curved ie not flat like the windown in your house - you will need to heat shrink the film with a heat gun (hairdryer wont work) to fit the curvature of the glass. if its not done perfectly you will get bubbles and creases round the edges. Also tinting over the dot matrix (little black dots) around the edge of the glass is very difficult.
If you have the spare cash go to a pro.
If you have the patients then give it a go as it will save you money. check the tinter videos on youtube for tips on heat shrinking.

    Good luck!!

I bought some pre cut tints. Removed all the plastic interior around the rear quarters and the tint went on them great!

Next: Rear side window.. spent a bit of time getting it right, creased it a few times but manages to rescue it and it looked half decent.

Next: Other rear side window.. completely ballsed it up, creases all over the place and ended up ripping it off and screwing it up with anger because I couldnt get it right.

Next: Back window.. Got it on ok, but for the life of me couldnt get all the bubbles out, when I removed one, another 2 would appear elsewhere, again, ended up ripping it off and screwing it up in anger!!

I remember the lads on here telling me to have a swear jar with me whilst doing it and I think if I did the jar would have been overflowing!

Get a pro to do it if you aren't confident yourself, because it WILL go wrong I guarantee it lol

or get blinds. they are half the price, and if you get fed up with the look, just remove them! check out my garage for an idea of what theylook like.

But the blinds want protect you against UV rays that's the point of window tints. With them you have 90% of UV protection
