Unhappy One Touch Electric Windows Not Working

I noticed recently that my one touch function of the electric windows has stopped working, I have to keep my finger on the button to open or close them. It is not a major issue but has anyone else had it happen, is it easy to resolve or not worth the hassle?

    Vehicle : Vectra

    Trim : SRi

    Engine : 1.9 CDTi 8v

    Year : 55

    Mileage : 92,000

    Default

I had this happen to me last week when I changed the battery on the car.

Simple to fix........ I think all I did was to wind each window down, then all the way back up. But when the glass reaches the top of the door I continued to hold the button for about another 5 seconds and that seemed to fix it

    Hope it works for you

EDIT:- Just found in another thread

    Code:
    The correct procedure is:

    1. Close doors.
    2. Switch on ignition.
    3. Open windows completely.
    4. Close window and press on button for at least 3 seconds.
    5. Repeat for each window.
    Already replaced:-
    Alternator,
Drilled/Grooved Discs & Pads, Eibach Springs, EGR Valve, 50W HID's 6000k, K&N Panel Filter, LED footwell & boot lights

Keep the buton held until the windows close fully and keep the button pressed for a further few seconds. Now press the button to open window fully and keep it pressed for cpl of seconds more even after fully open. One-touch should now be restored.

Brilliant, thank you, I never cease to be amazed at how helpful you all are, this is also the best car forum I have ever known, makes owning a Vectra a better prospect!

Owning a handbook is also handy - ie, it gives the same answer as above

Surprised by that, thought that kind of information would be reserved for dealers so they can charge for something. I always look in the manual when curious but thought there would be no way anything would cover one touch windows so did not read it. I will remember that and always have a look first in future.

Had you disconnected the battery or changed the keys recently... i found that you don't actually have to wind the window down then back up, just hold the up button down till you hear the click

I put the red box on so loosened the positive terminal slightly, guess that's what did it.
