Did it move at all? Could try pouring some boiling water over and see of it helps.
The radiator expansion tank or burp tank ( same thing) is very cheap at main dealers and really really easy to swap...If you snap the neck/threads then don't worry too much, Just get a new one and be a happy bunny..
Please note...
the expansion tank/ burp tank is not usually on the shelf, it took vauxhall main dealers 2 days to get it, so before using brute force and ignorance make sure they have one on a shelf for you to pick up if needed....Tosh
Try to brake the seal when engine hot but do not remove it just take cared.
It has not been undone for a long time and it looks like there is i seal on the underside of the yellow cap which is sticking within the filler neck.Yes the cap is turning but is not rising up the threads.
If i have to replace the expansion bottle ,how do i go about bleeding air locks/air from the cooling system.
Shouldnt have a problem if only replacing the bottle.
Best thing is clamp off pipe at the bottom, a rag and some mole grips will do fine.
Unclip bottle from holder (lift front end up and pull out)
Remove 2 smaller pipes. And plug the ends,
Undo clip from underneath and simultaneously pull pipe and twist bottle upside down
This will stop you spilling bottle of coolant everywhere and also mean you can use it again.
Fit new bottle.
Fill to cold marker line.
Start engine and whilst runningnup to temp
Pump bottom radiator hose. And that'll get rid off the air. It's not strictly needed but better to male sure

Thanks Adam.If i clamp all the pipes where you say and squeeze the bottom radiator pipe do you think there is little risk if air entering the cooling system.
Dobs.
Tbh you wouldn't even need to pump the hose.
I did same technique of clamping pipe etc other week. Repeatedly whilst pressurising system trying to find coolant and never pump my hose and didn't have a problem.
But by squeezing the bottom hose even just once it'll force that tiny air gap back into the bottle and you'll be fine
Is there only one type of orange/pink antifreeze that Vauxhall sell.I want to use orginal Vauxhall spec.
Thanks.
Yeah vauxhall onlymuse one. It's about 4.50 a litre.
