Thanks for that 600ish eek ive seen that they are doing a fixed price £249 for a vectra cambelt change, i gather the pump is expensive then plus labour to fit, do you recomend the pump to be changed at the same time, forgot to say mines a 56 plate

Not the most technical minded but they do recommend changing the pump along with cambelt as they have the same sort of life span. Sometimes your waterpump can go before your cambelt, it will cost you more if you had the cambelt done and then the waterpump at a later date so I'd say go ahead and get waterpump done too.

Have you had a ring around some local garages instead of the stealers? Maybe get the parts yourself then just ring around for labour costs which might work out cheaper again.

Water pump and tensioners are best changed at same time. As belt rarely fails on its own. And is usually down to failed water pump or tensioner

i have a burning smell from the cambelt area i think its my water pump which has seized its on 62000 miles

i will find out at the week end to take the cambelt casing off

so i would get the Water pump and tensioner /beltchanged at same time

For the parts go to Eurocarparts.co.uk

25% discount on many different parts.

Put service25 in as discount code.
