    Default Neuton supply issues.

Its that dreaded time that new tyres are going to be need and as the Wanli's (yes I know their crud) haven't seemed to last that long I was going to try and get hold of some Neutons as Neo Brothers didn't have any last time. I know that the NT5000 are now discontinued and have been replaced by the 8000's but they still don't have them in either 225/35/19 or 235/35/19, 245's will be no good for me either as even with 5mm spacers on the front on full lock the tyres rub on the inside bodywork (I take it that's because of the 45mm drop in height).
Can any shed any light on this issue with supply.

    Thanks Dave

(Added bit- sorry that will be a 30mm drop being a GSi)

Aren't Neutons the same as Nexen?

numbering is the same and one site has tyres listed as neutons and then talks about Nexen of same number

different companies i think- and definitely different tread patterns. the nexen n8000 is a decent tyre though (almost identical to conti sport contact) and has good reviews.
the only neuton nt8000 review I could find was by a SAAB 9-3 driver (who may or may not be somehow connected to a certain SAAB specialists)

And the nexens are a fair bit cheaper than the neutons IIRC :-)

Neutons are definitely not the same as Nexen, and I asked Neo Bros 2-3 weeks ago about the NT5000 and they said they were hoping to get more stock in soon, they didn't mention anything re. being discontinued.

I was told (although I'm not 100% sure on this) that Neuton's are made by Yokohama.

Spot on Ian they have manufacturer info on the tyre and it states YHI (Yokohama Heavy Industries)

I am aware the NT5000 is still in production and cheaper than the NT8000 and finally to Greviousbee, Nexen are not made in the same place or by the same group company, and though a good wee tyre not in the same class as the Neuton TBH.

Neutons are distributed worldwide by the same company that distributes Yokohamas, which they also do for Roadstone and Achilles tyres.

I thought the NT5000 were discontinued DOH.
It just seems that Neo Brothers have been telling people for quite awhile now that they will be getting more in stock but that's now been approx 8-9 months.

I've never had any hairy moments in the wet with the nexen n6000s and thats not what i hear about the neuton nt5000s. horses for courses i always say but nexen (part of michelin group) are a decent tyre compared to anything in its price range and I'll be having them again unless uniroyals come down in price a lot.
