    Default 1.9 CDTi

Evening guys, quick one for you guru's, my mate has a 1.9CDTi and was wondering how to drain his engine oil, so I went to show him where his sump plug should be (going off the location of the sump plug on my VVTi) and was suprised to see a sort of splash panel/debris cover under the engine block, is this simple to remove and refit? dont have one on mine. And while im here, I presume the sump is in the same place as the VVTi?

    Cheers

Pretty sure these undertrays are only fitted to the Diesel versions but not the petrol ones---with added sound deadening to make the Diesel engines seem quieter. Had to remove mine--16 small torx screws---to give it all the once over when doing the cam belt and engine service. THEN i noticed the hatch in the middle to get at the sump plug

    Live n learn.

It's there for drive-by sound deadening - if you look on your V5 there should be a decibel reading both stationary and moving...
