    Default Trip computer Range accuracy

    Vectra 1.9CDti Sri,

Is there any way to reset the range on the trip computer, I get the 'Range' warning when the needle is just above Red, is there any way to reset it so i get the warning when its say half way in the red?

Can I ask why you would want to do that? Its warning you that there is only about a gallon of fuel left. Being a diesel, its harder to get them going again if you happen to run dry.

When we got the car there was no fuel in it so I put £10 in, that made no difference, so another £10 went in still nothing so now thinking the fuel gague is faulty put in another £10 this time the needle went to just above red and no range warning so i know the car has £20 in it when the range warning comes up and that is approx 200 miles, id have thought it would make more sense to come on when there is say 50 miles left.

Putting small amounts of fuel in is the problem. Also you need to do something like 15 miles before the fuel range starts accurately working.

Try brimming the tank and then report back when it's almost empty again.

The needle will read the value quite quickly..regardless of how little you put in.

The low fuel light takes a while before it catches up, assuming you have put enough in to extinguish it.

The board computer usually does not acknowledge top ups of less than 10 litres...approx £14 worth of fuel at current prices.
The range will run down to zero and stay there until you put more than 10 litres in, in one go.

Range warning should be triggered at 51km or 30 miles.

It does this on both the wife's Vectra-C and my Cavalier Mk3.
