    Default I'm after an estate!

I'm after getting an estate as we had one baby son last April & baby #2 is due this June

Thing is I bought my car for £7.5k last June & I'm getting bent over on px prices. Best so far is £4.8k, worst is £2k (both without them even seeing it).

Made me think, is there any place where swaps & realistic deals can be done?

A 2007 Elite with 36k miles in mint condition must be just what someone is looking for somewhere.

I'm just after an estate version in good nick really. Love the Vec & would like to stick with one.

I did the same thing.. hatch to an estate.. loads of room and they look good too. Luckily I was able to borrow some money to buy my estate and then sell my hatch. It worked out I paid £500 plus my hatch for it.

Perhaps I should just think about a private sale & then find an estate.

It's fine until we go away then a bit of a squeeze, especially if my 10yr old comes too.

And since we mainly use the Vec for UK hols & the odd weekend it means it will not really suit our needs soon.

a private sale is always a better way to get a good price imo, dealers will want to make a profit on any part ex, if you sell it yourself you make that profit instead.

    just an idea.

How much bigger is the estate over the hatch in seating area?

If it's boot space you need have you thought of a roof box?

the estate is a lot bigger than a hatch, i sat in both.

i am 6'2" and hatch was no good for me in the back.
the estate is 5" longer in the floor pan iirc so you get more rear room.

    and the boot is cavernous!!

i only tried sitting in the back to get an idea of the room, not much chance of me ever sitting there tbh.

plus i am the biggest person i know so it was a good guage. by biggest i dont just mean height.

the estate is what you need if you want room, and it drives like a normal car, i dont notice the size until i come to park lol
