Thread: will a blanked egr pass the nct or the english equivalent

    Default will a blanked egr pass the nct or the english equivalent

    hi im curious will my car pass the nct (national car test)since i blocked off the egr,the eml light is on but that wont cause a fail,will the emmisions be different from normal.i would just put back on the egr pipe for the test but its cracked and i cant get one handy.ideas ??

    the eml light will cause a fail on the English mot

    ok it wont in ireland just abs airbag that sort of thing does it cause the emmisions to be higher then ?

    Mine passed with the light on. Will be an issue in April and onwards though. A decent garage or code reader will allow the light to be reset come MOT/NCT time.
