    Engine; Z30DT
    Trim; SRI XP2 Nav

    MY; **58 ***

Fault Code; P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected

Looking for some advice after this evening's panic coming out of work and starting the car.

I have had a slight judder/erratic idle revs, develop at idle during this weekend, and this evening when leaving work the Spanner light has come on after the car sat for approx 10 secs at 1k revs and drinking at 0.8gal/hr.

After switching the car off and starting it back up the judder/erratic idle was still there but dropped to 0.3gal/hr (normal for a cold start), and no spanner light present, (as it has been all weekend).

Are you sure it isn't just a DPF regen?

Positive the clue is the spanner light and the new code which wasn't there on Saturday when it was plugged in and read.

Does the car sound funny when the idle is erratic?

Using diagnostics turn that injector off and see if the idle stays same or gets worse.

See what that injector readings are like compared to the rest.

Before you do anything, i'd change the fuel filter. Mine was behaving similar last summer (same code). It turned out i had some contaminated fuel. They're about a tenner for a new one.

It sounds like its misfiring as a friends son came out and stright away said that its misfiring from listening to it. (he knew nothing about the issue).

I was thinking this after reading a few threads last night but then thought it maybe something else due to the misfire.

I'm going to try some system cleaner tomorrow anything anyone can recommend? Was looking at BG244 or 2 Stroke oil?

I find that redex just knackers my fuel filter. If the filter is clogged (not letting enough fuel through) the cleaner might not do much other than bring through more crap from the tank. It's REALLY easy to change. Failing that just take the top off the housing and see how dirty the filter is. This is what mine looked like.
