Default tried but failed! An update....

removed swirl pot linkage and bonded relevant pots in place
cleaned serviced EGR ran with it on and off, no difference
    cleaned up boost sensor
can of 10k through the inlet
both EGR and Boost sensor were coked up pretty bad with carbon

The faults still there, lots of white smoke on start, car wont get past 4000RPM until warmed up. Taking off in first gear is juddery as hell. had my 5 month son in the back today and the poor wee man was vibrating! Car seems fine at higher speeds, smooth and powerful. There is a hell of a lot of engine judder at idle tho. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure whats up. I'd much rather try to sort this myself. Last resort or its the garage this weekend! Cheers folks

You could have some dodgy fuel or some other contamination, maybe a tank of good diesel and a bottle of redex or similar, and disconnect the battery for a while, are there any fault codes flashing up when you do a pedal test/code reader?

just took the range to zero then put in a full fresh tank. No difference. Need to check the fault codes as the engine light is on at the moment due to the EGR disconnected. what and how do you do a pedal test???

Although I'm certain the pedal test doesn't work on the CDTi. Doesn't on mine

Check for split vac hoses too. When was fuel and air filters last changed?

pedal test is pointless on the 1.9.

What colour are the injector plugs? Yellow means they need to be changed to the blue type.

Full service in november from Arnold Clark just before I bought it but I have looked at the pollen filter and i'm pretty sure its never been touched! All the hoses appear to be sound, followed a how 2 on that earlier. Its getting/got to the stage where I dont think i should be driving it.
