    Hi i have a opel vectra c 2005 1.8 Z18XE ...
well to make the storry short my engin is tottaly caput a big hole in the engin and broken pistons and mettal every were.

so i need to swap the engin any big tips wood help.
i understand that ill need to swap some components so i dont get any problems with the ecu.

i was thinking of just lifting the engin out with out the gearboks and servopump and klima pump...

is that posible or do i need to thake the whole crap out?

    A failed z18xe!!!!

Anyway, nothing to worry about with the engine swap, its all just a straight swap and will work fine with your ecu etc.

As long is you put a Z18XE back in, electronics should be fine.

Never pulled the whole lot out (although most of mine has been out, it's never been all at the same time)

By the look of things the whole lot should lift out with the bonnet taken off...

I would think it will come out up the way. Remove the timing belt cover will give you a few extra mm to help clear the chassis on the drivers side. Someone changed a z18xe last year but cant remember who it was now, there were pics too.

May aswel fit a new clutch whilst it's out mate. False economy not to IMO.

And if it's got dmf fit a new one aswel.

    Not hard to swap though.
Especially if your competent enough to take engine out
