Default How much to put an electric shower in? Nottinghamshire

Looking to have a shower installed. But struggling to get a good price.

    What i think is needed

10mm twin and earth ran from the fuse box down stairs up in to the loft approx 10 to 15 metres plus a switch and fuse

A Shower to be installed with a chrome pipe from the loft into the bathroom.

Had some silly quotes over the 1k.

Any ideas or anyone local willing to come a do the job if the price is right?

If you need the cable I'm guessing you don't already have an existing shower.

The easiest method is to bring the cold feed from under the bath and up into your shower.

Depends how hard it is to route the cable, do any walls need chasing, how many floor boards need lifting etc... ? (routing 10mm is a pain)

You could save on costs by creating a route for the cable for yourself so it's easier for the spark. Any good with plumbing? You could source the cold feed and clip it up the wall to were the shower is going to save on costs.

I'm a plumber but not a spark, probably charge appx £120 labour only to screw and pipe up a shower, materials ontop of that.

A few hours of the sparks time I'm not sure maybe £300 odd?

As the bathroom had been retiled before i moved in i want the least amount of pipe on show, so thats why i was thinking of having it come down from the ceiling.

I did buy a thermo mixer tap but there isnt enough pressure between the tank and tap. Most of the plumbers said its a pain trying to install a pump as theres not enough room in the airing cupboard to put it and it would be tight under the bath and couldnt decide if i should have a single or double feed as the cold is on the main supply.

And the plumber whose quote i accepted has never came back to do the job, when i ring him, he says is off work due to sickness, this has been going on for over three months.

As a spark and doing such jobs its difficult to give a price as depends on a lot of factors. As mentioned, 10mm is an absalute pain in the arse, even with trunking, unless you got a perfect strait run its just annoying as hell.

If it was strait forward you would be looking at £250+ for the Electrical side.

To save a few, there is nothing against you taking advice and running the cable yourself, from the C/U to the Switch then to the Shower, but dont be suprised if the Electrician is then difficult to find to finish it off.

Bathrooms are a zone covered by the whole Part P Saga, So should be a registered spark (Nic, Nappit all them).

If you supply more info, im sure people could provide a more accurate price/amount you should be paying.

Was told to go for the biggest shower i could get like the 10.5 or 11.5kw as would provide a better shower, but also been told to have a pump to go with my mixer tap.

All i want is a shower that will work and a reliable person to install when they say
