Default Is this the best price to buy DMF and clutch kit?

Biting the bullet and changing DMF and clutch on my 1.9cdti 150. Still getting prices for entire job but might buy the parts and get my mechanic to fit them. The best price I can find is as follows from http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/

LUK 3 piece clutch kit (part no 637723230) £215

Sachs DMF (part no 336720210) £211

Not bad at £426 I thought. Any comments? Anyone know a decent cheap place to have the entire job done in the north east without me sourcing the parts?

Interested to see responses on this also as my DMF is rattling, even tho the dodgy garage that sold it to me stated on my service book that a new DMF was fitted on it's last service not long ago. LIARS!

Those were the same ones fitted to mine. Total cost fitted was £697 from Tameside Transmissions in Droylesden, M/cr.

I really rushed into the buy to be honest, I done a straight swap with my 1.4tdci fiesta, and he said as it was a swap the warranty doesn't come with the car and I have to pay for it myself. Being short of cash I said I don't have the money so I signed this thing to say it was my responsibility if the car wasn't road worthy etc..

Really stupid thing to do I know but I'm sure you know how much exitement you get when you are buying a new car.

Also brake pads were down to the metal, had a starter motor problem, a snapped spring, a goosed CV joint, and 2 tyres at 1mm.

Only really actually started to learn about cars after my Vectra purchase, so I found all this out AFTER I bought it

Stay away from CJ Car Centre in Ormskirk. Wouldn't even give them 1/5!

if the "swap" was with a registered garage, you still have your rights, the sale of goods act covers you on this..

    Yeah good price mate.

Have you tried ringing round clutch specialists. As you might find someone to do it for £600 odd all in.

Unless fitting it yourself of course?

One local clutch specialist wants £750. Rang Mr Clutch on Saturday morning and still waiting for manager to ring me back. Will chase this up tomorrow and get a price.

As for fitting it myself....I'm totally useless at anything mechanical like this. The extent of my mechanical skills = bleeding my hydraulic brakes on my mountain bike!!

My only problem was not impressing the wife by spilling hydraulic fluid all over the kitchen floor thus turning it into an impromptu episode of dancing on ice
