    Default Thanks for the help!

Morning all, Ive only been a member of this forum for 2 months, and in that time this forum has helped me more, than what the garages ive taken my car to have.
1st PROBLEM. Exhaust emission light was constantly on. Read up on here and a few members said it was the EGR VALVE. Got a new EGR VALVE(through warranty) and you guessed it. The light went off.
2nd PROBLEM. Steering judder at 70mph, read up on here that i might need a 4 wheel alignment (bought 2 new tyres and got the 4 wheels aligned) problem fixed.
3rd PROBLEM. TEMPERATURE GAUGE not moving. Read up on here, that it was deffo the THERMOSTAT that needed replacing. Let the garage know what i thought might be the problem. Bought a THERMOSTAT.(took 2 weeks to fit me in to fit it) Drove a few miles down the road... and the gauge started moving!! Spot on!(again under warranty!)
4th PROBLEM. My blowers werent blowing cold when the dial was on cold. It was constant warm air. If i was on a long drive, the heat was so hot i had to close all the vents and open the window. Read up on here about taking the glove box off, and looking at the dial with the red lever sticking out of it. I was told to give it a whack! Took the glovebox off a few weeks back, but couldnt get to the dial. So yesterday, took the glovebox off, and the part thats connected to the centre console??? And there it was, the elusive dial. So i tried turning it, no luck! Got my plastic mallet out and gave it a tap. Turned the heating knob from cold to hot and vice versa, and then it happened. The red lever began to move. Now i have hot and cold air!(so ive saved a few quid on that job, as i had it booked in at a electrical specialists!)
So thanks to everyone thats helped me on the group. (Ive also had a new alternator)( AA had to tow me!) plus ive lost the use of my passenger wiper(new linkage rod on its way from wipex) Not bad going considering ive only had the car since the 6th of Jan!!!

these are all common faults on this forum

    wiper linkage
    thermostat
and heater blowers due to scuttle tray blockages

most of us have had the same problems on here and its nice to find out the problem instead of paying vauxhall dealerships

im lost without this forum its addictive and there are a lot of knowledgeable on here
i normally change my car every 3 years
due to this forum ive had it nearly 6 years now
