Default DPF/CAT - Strong Fumes Smell inside cabing - CDTI 150

    Folks,

    I need some help.

My dads CDTI 150 SRI has got seriously strong fumes/smell inside the cabin. Stuck my head under the bonnet yesterday and rev'd the balls off it, there is smoke coming from the CAT area when its rev'd.

We had it checked by a local garage who said that the DPF is blocked which has caused the CAT to burn out.

Is there a way of unblocking the DPF without physically opening/removing?

Also, im thinking about having it De-Cat'ed now, anything pointers, tips and ideas.

Please help, this smell inside is so strong it catch's your throat!

    Thanks, G.

If you take it and thrash it it high revs down the motorway the higher gases and temp might help unblock it.

I believe you can by stuff that you undo one of sensors and poor in and that aids unblocking and aswel stuff that can be put in fuel. How effective they are I don't no

Redex prob won't do anything mate tbh it's not to good.

Forte is what the trade use a fuel cleaner. And they do dpf cleaner so might be worth trying that

9 times out of 10, smoke getting into the cabin on these vectras is a broken flexi. The flexi is right underneath the gear lever area, have the car running and have someone block the exhaust with their hand, while you look at the flexi....

Tell them to hold a balled up rag on the exhaust end, you dont want to burn your mates hand!!
