    Angry possible water pump failure

Morning guys more trouble, had a screeching sound coming from alternator water pump area after a short while the temp guage went upto 90 degrees and smoke was coming from the same area. Am i right in thinking the water pump is knackered and is it safe to drive to the garage about 6 mile away cheers

It very possibly is. The water pump going is not the main problem, Its the timing belt shredding to pieces you need to watch out for. If you have recovery i'd get it towed there. No point taking a risk that might cost £££'s

Do not drive, have it towed

What`s the engine code? I had the same problem, very strange screeching and yes it was water pump! My engine is Z18XE! I changed the pump immediately becouse it very dangerous for the engine! The main belt move the pump and you can emagine what can be happen if the water pump be blocked! the other problem is that the internal turbine stop spinning and the result will be overheating!
    Sorry for my English!
    Best regards!
