Default Fan always coming on during start-up

Recently noticed that my fan is coming on from start up on my GSI and tends to go only go off when i turn the car off or when the car warms up. Is this anything to be concerned with or is it normal? never really noticed it coming on from start up before

I don't know about the 3.2, BUT on the 1.8 if you disconnect the sensor on the thermostat, the fans come on.

    Maybe it problem lies there?

Would be my guess too, fail in the 'fan on' position

I gave it a service last weekend and cleaned the engine bay afterwards so could possibly have effected something. Where would the sensor be situated? or would it be obvious when looking at the raditor and tracing connection from there...

Mine has been doing this for a while, when I raised it on here someone suggested switching off the climate control to see if it did anything - when i switched it off the fans stopped running. I have not investigated any further.

Press in the big centre fan speed button and then deselect the option.
