Default Mrs AJA had a bump last night

No one was hurt and she was in her car (thank god). The other party has admitted full liability to her insurance so the car is being picked up tonight and a hire car dropped off. There's not much damage but I'm worried about it being written off.

    The damage is -

    Scratched front bumper
Front Bumper pushed in out of line
Passenger front wing slightly dented and scratched
Passenger front door slightly dented and scratched
Passenger rear door slightly dented and scratched
Both front alloys scuffed (as she was pushed into a curb)
Drivers side tyre split. (so I want both fronts changed)
    Side indicator lense broken.

It probably doesn't sound like a lot, but by the time an 'insurance approved' garage has totalled everything up and added labour etc I reckon the bill could be quite large.

The car is a R reg Vectra B (so a pre facelift), so I reckon it's worth probably around the £1800 mark maybe £2000 tops. And that's me being generous. So what percentage of a cars value will insurance companies allow before writing the car off?

Glad she's okay. 60% is about the highest I think you'll get before write-off. I posted this in the thread about my damage when I hit the Porker....

Zurich (my old insurers until they wouldn't cover me for mods!) are apparently one of the best. They will do their best to get a car back onto the road - even if it goes over the 60%.
    If that's any help.

What happened to get that damage, and both front alloys scuffed, or did you mean both passenger side alloys?

Basically, someone decided to change lanes from the middle lane of an approach to a set of traffic lights into Sharons lane. Sharon was in the right hand lane and was hit on the passenger side and pushed into a curb on the drivers side -

    Sharon car - Red
    Third Party - Yellow

    Gotcha! Nice diagram!

Blimey, must have been a helluva shove to push her across two lanes into a kerb!

Hope she gets it sorted and hope the insurance bit above might help.

The third party has admitted full liability, so all sorted there.

Sharon was already in the third lane; the third party was in the middle lane and decided she liked Sharons lane better.

I really don't want the car written off as it's a cracking mota. Does anyone know what the lowest percentage of a cars value has to be breached before it's written off?

Depends who's involved (insurers). Some, I think, will try to write-off at 40%!!!

What insurers are involved with both parties?
