    Default 1.8vvt z18xer misfire

Wife come home to say a light had come on dash and the engine wasn't running right. I had a look and eml light was on and the engine seemed lumpy on tick over.Took it for a quick drive and was sluggish pulling off and didnt pull right under accelleration.
Done pedal test and and code 0304 (cyliner 4 I presume) which pointed to misfire. Checked plugs and one of them didnt look clean and was damp when compared to the rest (cant remember which one but will take note tomorrow)
Plugs are only 6 month old, but I will get new ones to rule them out. If its the coil pack, what sort of price would they be at the dealers without a tradecard?
Would this one here fit?? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-A...item3f12c2e1ee,
    thanx for looking

0304 is indeed a misfire on cyl 4. Yes that link to ebay will fit as its from a Z18XER. As you said, buy a new plug and see if that solves it, as its the cheapest option.

I cant beleive a 1.8VVT is causing problems......... thats normally for the diesel boys
On a more serious note, try changing the plug first, it is not unknown for a plug to go duff.

After that I would hazard a guess at the coil pack.

    cheers for the replies guys.
Tried spark plugs, still the same. Phoned up the stealers and was quoted £150 for coil pack, told him he was having a laugh and can get get them on ebay for less than £80 delivered http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2307425457...84.m1423.l2649 . Asked if he could do it any cheaper and he came down to £113 which I was prepared to pay but couldnt get there before it shut.I ended up going to the local car spares shop in billingham and got one for £53.
Up and running again but means i gotta take the mrs to York tomorrow to visit her family
