    Silly question but what do they actually do? I mean they cant actually keep the battery warm, can they Anyway Picked one up for the pricely sum of £1 at the scrappys last week I know they are on the Vec B and Astras but any one else put one on a Vec c?

    My v6 had one on, so just assumed they all had them.

    I believe their meant to help keep the batt at constant temp. Weather does or not is debatable

    My Vectra has one on it already, its not particularly thick but within the confines of the plastic battery box I would imagine it helps.

    I thought it was there to protect the battery from the heat from the engine lol
    VXR IS FOR LIFE NOT JUST FOR THRILLS !

    theory is to keep battery warm, as they lose cranking power when they get too cold.

    Its to keep the temps down from hotter engines, 1.8's and 2.2's dont need them.

    I made my own from the Therma Wrap style insulation, I then covered this with a couple of layers of Silver DucK Tape jsut incase it decided to short on the terminals After all Aluminium is a conductor

    Looks quite well & works a treat .... I may even take a Pic & post it up .... I know the Gen GM ones are a fortune for what they are .....
