    Default ****** Alternator gone AGAIN!

    GREAT.

Driving home from the boys parents eve and the poxy battery light comes on.. Pop the BC into DIAG mode and voltage reading 11.0V and dropping to late 10's

    Wonderful!!

Was only replaced by Vauxhall in Feb 2009 and covered 14k miles

Part number was R1530098 that was replaced..

Anyone please check the latest price of a alternator on TC for me please.

    its a 2005 Vectra 1.9 150 16V CDTI Sri...

    Thanks

    Ant

hmm I wonder if you could get a replacement under consumer law or at least help towards a new one form VX. You would expect an alternator to last longer than 3 years and 14k, most last the lifetime of the car.
Lois Griffin: Peter! You're bribing your daughter with a car?
Peter Griffin: Ah, c'mon, Lois, isn't 'bribe' just another word for 'love'?

Agree - but it would appear not on the CDTI's

Trouble is I need to do it tomorrow so I will have to get the part in the morning.

Just trying to work out what amp I need..

    From the p/n fitted last time - R1530098 I think thats a 130amp..

    Yh Zero chance fella..

Where did we get your alternator from when we did your CDTI - was it Camberley with my trade discount or VX - I cant remember?

Do you remember what voltage rating it was

Do me a favour - check Trade Club for me and see what the P/N and voltage is buddy?

Guess what I am doing tomorrow morning - lol

Personally I think it's the steering pump on these. I strongly believe that's what killed mine.
