    Angry Window salesmen

    Just had a salesman from a well known window company (the one the 2 idiots promote) come round to give me a quote. He came back with a 12k quote. A bit high i thought. He then gave me 50% discount. As he was telling me that that was the maximum that he could give me, it just so happened that their advert came on offering 55% off. Watched him squirm I then told him that i'd had a quote for about 4k (which is true). At which point he started with spiel about how good their product is. Fair enough, he's a salesman, that's his job. Up until this point he had been great. He then told me he was going to phone his manager to see if he could do me a better deal. At this point the situation started to go downhill.... fast. He passed me the phone to speak to the regional manager. He began telling me that the quote i'd had was for cheap substandard windows with no warranty and zero energy saving advantages and that they'd broken the law by not disclosing the technical specifications of the units. I told him that i was not interested in saving £55 a year on my heating bill when the windows were going to be nearly £3000 more. It would take me 54 years to save that money on my gas bill. The guy then asked me if he were to beat my original quote by 50% would i buy NOW? I said, 'no', i would be intrigued as to why but would still be interested. He then said, and i quote 'You've no intention of buying windows from me, you've bottled it. Your problem isn't the money, you're just messing me around.'
    I hung up the phone shipped the salesman out and told him, 'sorry mate, it's nothing you've done but your manager seems to think he's some kind of Jedi trying to play mind games. He lost, i'm not buying your windows.'

    How many vulnerable people might have fallen for their sales pitch and consequently be out of pocket? Knowing what i know (my dad used to work in the upvc window industry) i can honestly say that they just tried to bombard me with details, facts and figures in order to make their extortionate prices sound viable. Don't know how they sleep at night.

    i tend to use the mantra that all salesmen are scum and will use any lie or trick to cheat money from you.

    window salesmen are the worst, up there with estate agents imo!

    I remember my sister getting a company round to quote her for windows , when the salesman turned up in a brand new 911 she told him
    To go forth and multiply
    He asked why and she said , if
    You can drive that then your obviously making loads of commission
    So I'm sure your prices are too
    High

    I am in Sales, have been since 1988. I learned very quickly that you do NOT lie you do NOT force and you do NOT play mind games.

    I am at the stage in my life I "love!!!" when a sales person approaches me for things like gas heating windows,,, cars!!

    I have reduced many to tears

    If I want something I will buy it, I do my research know what it costs know what a fair profit is for the company and stick hard to the plan.

    Many people get swept along in the game played and lose hard earned money.
