Default Who's retro fitted roof rails?

If you have, have you had any issues?

I remember there was a conversation about the roof being different but no reference to a different one on epc etc..

My understanding is you can fit them for looks, but they will not be load bearing.

the load bearing stuff is a bit debatable as I think Kenp said there were no differences in the roofs on EPC unless it had a sunroof fitted.

That's one of the reasons I'm asking about people who have fitted them having issues. Looking at the points the roof fails go in, they seem to line up with where the existing roof bars would go.

Honestly, I don't know and am just going on what's been said on here in the past. I had them fitted on mine from the factory so never had to worry about a retro fit or them not being load bearing.

and that's the issue Ian, although some people say the need to be from factory, we all know what vx are like when you ask them can you retro fit stuff

I've pm'd tramman to see what he says, other then that I may just add them and see if my roof caves in when we stick some bags on when camping lol

Replied to PM. As kenp says the roofs are the same unless you have sunroof as would be expected. All the fixing holes are present to allow the option of trim or roofrails it is just two of the holes are redundant /taped over. I have so far used mine for carrying bikes, ladders and a large Thule roof box (not all at the same time) with no issues whatsoever.

    Steve,

did you have to remove the curtain bags completely or could you get at the nuts with them in place/loosened slightly?
