Default Fitting HIDs to a Signum

Hey guys, looking at refitting HID's to my Signum after a ballast blew on my old set and put standard bulbs in. Basically, the last time i was advised to use:

    Bulb Holders

Now i'm going to be honest, i couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get these to hold the bulbs in. Am i doing something wrong? The standard bulbs just push in and you feel them clip in. Yet these just seemed to hinder the process? My old HID's didn't quite fit properly, would metal based bulbs be better?

    All advice appreciated

You twist them in mate, you may have to bend the tabs a bit but without them on HID bulb you wont be able to get them to fit right.

There's no thread in the bulb holder though? Or is it just a case of bodge them in?

The headlight has two prongs and that bulb holder has the opposite, the two prongs on the bulb holder clip under the headlight's prongs. The two small curved wings on that picture are the prong/tabs.

Are your headlights preface, or facelift?

Those clips are for preface headlights.

The facelift headlights, the H7 bulbs just push in.

If you look at the pic below, you can see the 2 clips (top and bottom) that hold the bulb in

Not using the bulb holders that you previously mentioned.

Remove headlight (bumper off job) and carefully examine the existing bulb mount to see if it's bent or missing one (or both) of the clips.
