Default Stealer servicing - why do we bother?

I put my V6 CDTI in for a service, MOT & coolant change today, dealer called me to say they thought the oil filter housing might crack and they needed to change it, I asked how MOT went and was told the car had passed. After a couple of hours they said that the housing was covered under warranty and could be swapped out on Monday, my car was ready for collection.

I went to pick the car up, was charged for work requested including the MOT, when I asked for the MOT cert they suddenly remembered that they haven't done it yet. They will do this on Monday but no explanation for why they lied about it having passed.

I drove the car away, got about half a mile when the coolant level light came on, drove back and around half the expansion level had gone, they hadn't done the job properly.

I also checked my TPMS and noticed they'd reduced two of the tyres by around 5psi, I had checked the pressures before dropping off so I know they did this.

I am struggling to understand what we are paying for with these people, I can bodge these jobs adequately myself, if only I had a heated garage!

Heat in the tyres would explain the tpms readings. The rest is awful service though

Same issue as I had on my first two services
"Why have you reduced the tyres pressures?"
"That is the tyre pressures as listed?"
    "Show me"

Took me to their list and pointed to the 1.9 CDTI
    "Why have you used that?"
"That is what the engine of your car is"
"Really? Did you not spot it was a V6 CDTI"
They then noticed it did not appear on their list

The outcome was a note on my vehicle records
"Do not check or change tyre pressures, or ask customer for correct tyre pressures"

Name and shame them mate this is why i don't pay or a vauxhall to service my car it costs an arm and a leg for shoddy workmanship and only gains you bragging rights an a stamp when you come to sell it.

A certain dealership in Leeds had a chief technician or whatever they call their most experienced fitter insisted that the DMF on my sisters car was fine and the noise was nothing to worry about. couple of weeks later it disintegrated... I refuse to call em mechanics anymore as they cannot diagnose any faults unless Tech 2 gives em a code. Took mine in just after I got it as it kept stalling violently when stopping and had no power kept saying nothing wrong everything working fine. when symptoms so obviously pointing to sticking EGR valve. 3rd time it cut out on them when on test drive and they changed the EGR valve no further cutting out!! to paraphrase lines from a film
You can teach monkeys to fix better than that!

Where do you stand with the warranty if you service the car yourself and the book isn't stamped? Does anyone know?
