    Default Possible temp gauge issue??

    Evening,

Had the thermostat changed on my 1.9 cdti 120 today, due to it showing no temp on the dash, then rising to about 75 when in traffic and then dropping again. (Classic thermostat issues)

Economy has dropped, but the heaters have always got warm.+

However, even with the brand new thermostat is working fine, the temp gauge still isn't playing ball, and won't show temperatures.

I did have the dash replaced last year after it went pop, maybe I should pop it back to the dealers and see what happens there.

    Any thoughts?

When plugged into garage diagnostics it comes up with "pod fault".

You need to use the data lists with a diagnostic tester if the insrument data says it should be showing 80oC but the guage hasn't moved you know the facia had a fault.

Asked the year cause the newer radios ( cd30, cdc40 ) you can push radio on push settings for 15 secs till a beep sounds then push BC and it scrolls through menus one has speed and temp so u can see exactly what the engine is doing

    Thanks for the above....

Sadly I have a club spec, which doesn't have the OBC. I do however have a cd30 radio/cd.

I need the car for work tomorrow, so the mechanic is picking it up again on Saturday. I will get hom to take some live data through the diagnostic then.

Does this sound more like a dash issue to you? It appears to beheading that way to me?

On a side note will the engine overfuel at all due to the temp gauge not working? Or could it be the cold weather that has decreased the fuel economy recently?

Well it's sorted now, battery off and back on and the temp gauge started working again. As always if anything breaks...at all... ever.... switch it off and back on again.

Oh yeah and on reinputting the radio code noticed I have a cdr2005... not a cd 30.

What is the difference between half canbus and full canbus, apart from the steering wheel buttons? What do you get with full that you don't with half?
