    Default Inlet manifold gone

Hi all, the swirl valves have gone on my cdti150 and I am looking for somewhere decent to change it in the Leeds area. could do it myself but I dont have a garage and not going to attempt it outdoors over winter.

    can anyone recommend anywhere that:
a: wont try to rip me off with the labour and parts
b: wont screw it up then try to hide what they broke

alternately does anyone know of a workshop for hire ( I really REALLY hate giving garages money for work I can do lol)

I took my inlet manifold off end of last week to give it a good clean, you could get it done in a couple of hours. Have you got a gazebo you could put up whilse you change it.

You have a dti though, the inlet manifold on the cdti is not as easy to remove as it is on the dti

lol I think that is referred to the law according to sod lol, I thought about the gazebo option before for other stuff, but live in a culdesac with on road parking so may upset some neighbours lol. its running at the moment just giving really sh*te mileage at cruise on motorway.

How do these warranty companies look at this problem? I have a Car Protect platinum policy which states that the inlet manifold is covered, but to claim, their garage needs to look at the car and whilst they dont need to dismantle to see the issue if they do and the warranty lot play the wear and tear card, I am held to ransom to pay their labour rates!

You could always get a gazebo, stick it up and fix your car. Then if any of the neighbors ask you can just say youre organizing a street party for the queens jubilee

£168 is what I paid for mine from VauxParts. Next day delivery. Check that against dealer price and check on e-bay.
There were two bolts I could not reach and in the end removed the timing belt and replaced that too, where the HP fuel pump is.It is a full day's work. I guess that if you have not replaced the timing belt previously that should also be done at the same time and you have to be talking about £200 or thereabouts. If I was giving it to someone to do I would make sure they have done a 1.9CDTi previously. Do not be a guinea pig. Cow of a job for me.
