    Default spanner light on no power 2.0dti

    Hi,can anyone please give me some advice,the problem i have is my car(vectra 2.0 dti) loses power as soon as it goes over 2500 revs and then it wont reach 2700 revs at all,it gets sluggish,like no turbo,if i switch engine off then on again i can rev it twice or most 3 times over about 2700 revs then thats it,it wont get over 2700 revs and sluggish.Spanner light is continously on and car has been in limp mode for about a week now.If i turn engine off and then back on it will be normal for around 15 seconds then back into limp mode. I had diagnostic and fault code P0400. Ive changed the boost pressure sensor,still same,ive cleaned the EGR valve still same,ive checked hoses all seem ok. While cleaning the EGR valve i took off the plastic case at the back where the little mechanism is that pushes the valve in/out.and it sticks,is this normal,is the valve supposes to come in/out freely is it supposes to stick abit. when it sticks you have to push the end of valve for it to come back in,hope im making sense here. Also will changing the barometric pressure sensor be of any help.Are there any other tests or fault finding i can do myself,just cant afford the garage prices at the moment. Any help would be much appreciated. thanks.

    P0040 code is for O2 Sensor Signals Swapped Bank 1 Sensor 1/ Bank 2 Sensor 1

    mine done the same it was getting on my nerves untill some said clean the inlet manifold aswell . i was getting that code every 2-3 weeks after i justed cleaned the egr so i looked up the how-2 clean the inlet done that and now i got full power and it runs so much better with no codes . this does work http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...inlet+manifold

    Ive mangaged to take off and clean egr valve,boost sensor and top bit of manifold,i didnt feel confident enough to take off fuel pipes and then bleed them so i left that bit,anyway put it all back together and now it worse than before,its wont go over 2k revs now,ive checked all sensors and hoses attached properly,once i had put it back together it did go good for about 30 seconds then same again. could it be air mass meter or one of the vlave solenoids?. Thanks once again and really appreciate the help.

    are you sure you didnt damage the egr when you took the plastic off ?.as for the fuel pipes as long as you follow this thread its easy http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=145119 i was nervse but i thought i had enough of the p0400 code coming up and putting it in limp mode . i had never done any home macanics apart from arb bushes and brakes before. give it ago see if it works . if it does'nt work you might be looking at a new egr. but the code you are getting is the egr valve . because the reason it wont rev is its in limp mode . how dirty was the egr ? if it was dirty i would when i took my inlet off i was shocked how much crap was in there . it was stopping the flaps opening and closing . i found it not to bad to bleed the pipes
