Default DMF - Vec C - Death Rattle, ADVISE PLEASE..

    Hi Peeps

Just a quickie, my 40K veccy has developed the DMF rattle and its got very loud recently, as ive been putting it off.

The question is, Will the rattle just get louder or will there be a catastrophic failure resulting in more expense?

    Cheers, DV

It will eventually break, and could damage other components as well. The worst case I've ever heard of was that it snapped the crankshaft.

Mine was rattling for around 40k before i started to feel the vibrations in the box... that's when i had it changed.

Shop around the clutch specialists in your area, i did & got mine done for under £600 - full LUK kit inc slave & fluid change

Can you tell us where you got it done for under £600 as the parts come to nearly that?

Had a few quotes ranging from 620 to 884, booked in for next week, best not risk it.
