Number plate bulb holder should just pop out and then twist and pull the bulb holder

Not on the facelift cars it wont. As said by o.p. two screws holding each lens and they are usually rotten when you need to remove them if they have not been touched for years.

    Aaahh learn something new everyday.

I assumed they would have kept them same. As my 2007 Astra had same bulb holder as my 04 vec

take it they will be just some self tapping screws then. So Halfords or any motor factors should have various screws in.

Mine did self destruct when touched, you wont get them out with out damaging the light unit. I tried drilling them out, but ended up having to break the lens from under the screw head and use mole grips to undo them. The lens is plastic and very brittle so not that bad to sort.

The screws are 4mm diameter and about 10mm long (they go into a large gap, so longer will be fine). I've added a washer in my new number plate lights, just to give me a fighting chance when i need to change a bulb.

Also, it's easier to take the inner trim off the tailgate and undo the 7 nuts holding the strip with the lights in on a Signum. You can sort in on a bench then.

Part Number for Signum Number plate light is 90213642.
