    Default Remap question 2.0 Turbo

I have a 2.0 Turbo 2005 facelift and have been thinking about a remap, just wondering what sort of price i would be looking at and what are the benefits ie more power and mpg, ive not got a massive budget but thought i would ask.

Vehicle : Vectra and a Signum

Trim : top of the line in both

    Engine : Z18XE,Z19DTH,Z20NET

    Year : 2006

    Default

prices vary from £250 - £650.. you will get more power, from the 175bhp now to about 220bhp..

you will need to get yourself a highflow/performance panel filter for your airbox and look at getting yourself a decent performance exhaust to help get these figures.. Mpg will not suffer from the remap itself but with you enjoying the extra power you will knock down your mpg.

various places will remap it, some will claim to but not be able to (they think its the same engine as the astra and zafira but it isn't). If you ask any places advise them that you have a Trionic 8 ecu as its a saab engine... the engine is known as Z20NET btw.

in the forum approved traders section there is a tuner called torquingbhp who has a very good reputation tuning these engines..

I had mine done a year or so ago, and its worth it just for the grin factor!!

I have to confess, that after reading lots on here, and ringing around a number of places, i opted for a place loacl to me. Nothing fancy, just a plug in type, read ecu, email off and then input new map. Bit of a punt i know, but no regreats whatsoever.

I am a keen believer of you get what you pay for, so never expected anything special, but i guess i got lucky in this instance and wouldnt be without it now.

they are based on Cambridge so thats near for a start but as mentioned they can come you.. I haven't spoken to him for a couple of years but i think his prices are in your budget..

You get what you pay for, there are a couple of guys on here who nearly had there ECUs trashed by cheaper remappers.. A new ECU/engine will cost you a lot more so spend wisely..
