    Default 2.0 DTI Diesel Drinker!!!

Hi all getting a little bit worried here, "Vectra 2.0 DTI 04" from a full tank to half way has produced 194miles, so approx.. working out I will probably get around the 350miles to a full tank of Diesel. The "Range" is stating I have 329miles left which deff.. is wrong, the MPG however is reading at 26.2MPG. I must say most of the driving is urban, but surely these cars aren't are sore as this.

depends how you drive it. if you drive it like its apetrol you'll get petrol type mileage returns. that said though- if sshe's not getting warmed up and oly doing very short journeys/sitting in traffic I reckon you should still be gettin 30+

Oh and lad- make sure she's going into 5th- not back into 3rd lmao

I would say that was pretty poor mpg, i'd say you should be at least hitting around the 40mpg mark, i worked out at the moment we're getting around 41-43mpg, changing the filters should help

also some people suggest using diesel from shell/esso or bp.. rather than the supermarket fuel as it goes that bit further, and i hear the winter diesel doesn't give as good as it does in warmer weather?

also check the tyre pressure to did this the other day one of my tyres was pretty low 21psi when i think they should be 33psi i put them upto 30-31ish cause of the ice and snow,

would people suggest if 5th gear really is better than 4th around town? i find mine can run 5th around 30mph but i find changing to 4th alot and back to 5th, and it seems to run smoother in 4th till about 35mph?

My old DTi gave reading BC readings of 47 normally, rising to over 50 on a good run.
A good Service, new air filter, air filter mod, new thermostat if necessary, cleaning the inlet manifold, removing the catalytic converter are all going to help with better MPG. Lots of info in the HOW2 section, it is worth paying membership for.
