    Default z22yh and z20net tensioner

im sure its been covered before, but what benifit does the z20net tensioner bring to the z22yh engine? im 50/50 about getting it done while the signum is being brought back life, but wonder if theres any point doing it, and if its a straightforward fit?

    someone care to inform me?

There's two tensioners (at least), so you need to specify which one you're on about - timing chain tensioner or alternator belt tensioner?

If it's the chain one then get the net one. The yh ones fail but as of yet the net type has Bern solid. If you've had a new gm chain fitted then it will already be the net type.

The 2.2 chain tensioner is hydraulically controlled.

The 2.0 chain tensioner is sprung loaded.

Screw out the old tensioner, and screw in the new one.

The field remedy for a rattling camchain in the 2.2 is to fit the 2.0 tensioner.

Yes mate, the new kits came into circulation about a year or 2 ago. Beware of none GM kits. There have been a few failures of none GM kits.

LINKY HERE to the 2.2 shop but you should be able to fine it cheaper, plus you'll be able to get Trade prices at VX with your full membership.
