    Vehicle : Insignia Tourer

    Trim : Elite

    Engine : 2.0 CDTI (160ps)

    Year : 2010

    Default

The 2.0T was one of the standard engine options available on the Vectra C throughout the entire availability of the range (both pre-face and facelift).

Mine was ordered in May 2004 and delivered in August (collected 1st September hence the 54 plate) but the 2.0t was available in the estate until they stopped selling Vectras.

    cheers for the replies!!

they seem to be thin on the ground compared to the 1.9cdti !!

we have gone from doing 15k a year to around 8k now so thinking that we dont need a diesel any more and as we are currently looking for a vectra estate we might aswell look for a petrol version and more specifically the 2.0t engine due to its tunability!!

what sort of mpg/miles to a tank can you expext from one and is there any problems to look out for with them like the common ones with the cdti !!

The engines are pretty much bullet proof if you service them well. Much more reliable in general than the 1.9 Diesels. No EGR to worry about either as the Z20NET/B207 (Vauxhall/Saab variant of the 2.0T) were designed by GM for the American market primarily for use in other GM cars.

Only common faults as such on the 2.0T's are the coil packs going, but it's very easily diagnosed and a five minute job to replace them (also they're seperate so you don't have to replace a complete four cylinder coil pack, just the one that's gone).

Mileage wise, assuming a light right foot, round town they're not wonderful, but on a cruise at motorway speeds you can see 38-40mpg, drop down to 55-60mph and it goes up higher than that.

Get heavy with the right foot and the injectors open up fully and they're quite thirsty beasts especially if mapped, but great fun to drive.

    thanks for that then.

is the newer versions from say 07 onwards more tuneable??

    how would a remapped 2.0t compare to a remapped 1.9cdti 150 then ??

Two questions so I'll answer them one at a time.

The 2.0T after '07 was fitted with the larger injectors (381cc) and slightly higher capacity turbo as standard but was still 175bhp as standard but is cheaper and easier to get more power out of. Fit a decent exhaust and K&N panel filter and you can go straight to stage 3 (230-240bhp) and there's quite a bit more you can do if you have a big wallet. I think Nige's (Caveman_nige) is still the most powerful on here at the moment running around the 285bhp mark but Steve (sberrow) is about to overtake him and go over the 300bhp mark with his.

Mine's running the larger injectors (didn't come with them as standard though), K&N panel filter, ehaust system and stage 2 map at about 215bhp ish. But mine's fitted with the lower powered Garret turbo that was on the earlier models. I could very easily upgrade to the larger turbo and take mine up considerably higher as some of the other guys have now done. Buying an '07 or newer saves you a bit of cash if you want to go to stage 3 level, but any higher than that and you still need to start spending quite big money.

Up against the 1.9 Diesel, it's a very close thing. The Diesel when re-mapped has huge amount more torque but is harder to get to the same bhp levels. There are some 1.9's on here running with exhaust/panel filter and remap and getting very close to the 200bhp mark. There's a good few on here running a lot more than that (I think Nutron's is probably the quickest but someone may correct me on that).

I went up against Penfold101's mapped 1.9 Diesel (about 190 ish bhp I think) at Bruntingthorpe for a giggle and whilst I was gaining on him it was such a miniscule difference I'd have needed about 4 miles to catch him I think (mine was running around 212bhp at the time). The Diesel has so much more torque.
