Hi have you just lost boost so it struggles over 2k or does it hit 2k and bounce like its hit a red line?
if it just feels incredibly sluggish above 2k it may be the vacuum hoses or intercooler hoses.. and splits here will cause that. The vaccum hoses on mine split recently and my car felt like the turbo had just stopped working...
    Could be a quick fix..

Check that the egr electrical socket is plugged in firmly. It might not have been put back on properly after cleaning it

denifinatly more serious, had it on diagnostic machine and showinf faults on egr(BRAND NEW) maf senser , throttle body or sender and somthink else and all reading low voltage so looks electrical unless a ecu does all all of these. not really sure were to go from here, mechanic is looking at harness as he says hes had a few rub through over gearbox area!!!!!

Did you clear all of them and see what came back? If you unplug things with the ignition on, they will throw up faults. Continuety checks on the harness are straight forward and quick, he should know in an hour if the loom is fine or not.
