    Default can the 1.9 cdti do big mileages??

    I currently have an 06 sri cdti 150 with 65 thou on the clock.

    due to having a new dog and kids that keep kicking the back of my seat we are looking at getting an estate version with the same engine as they have more rear leg room and the bigger boot.

    now my car is only worth between 3 and 3.5 p/x even though it has fsh and is really clean.

    the ones im looking at in my budget of 6k are all what i would class as high mileage i.e 08 plates with 70+ thou.

    can the cdti cope with big mileages ok ??

    im aware of the egr/manifold/dmf etc problems but what else is becoming a common problem on cars with bigger miles??

    Anyone know of a decent low mileage estate for sale within my budget??

    oh and one last thing..... a lot of the cars im looking at dont have the roof bars fitted, how easy is it to get hold of these and fit them myself??

    I'm on 123000 and have had car for four years .....70000 is nothing for these engines

    Mine has just turned 126k.

    Its had an EGR valve, clutch and flywheel and inlet manifold, Apart from that just normal wear and tear.

    As for the roof bars you can still fit normal roof bars for when you need to put anything on top of the car.

    142,000 on my '06 120. It'll be 143k next week, 144k the week after, etc, etc. I do a little under a thousand a week. I've changed the DMF (it needed it), cambelt, aux belt, water pump and plugs (just because) and it runs smooth as a silk (diesel covered silk lol)

    I think you'd be hard pressed to find any modern diesel that can't crack hundreds of thousands of miles as long as they're looked after.

    it just seems a bit strange that my car with only 66k on and fsh is only worth 3 to 3.5 k p/x when the cars im looking at like 07 or 57 plates with more miles are going for 6k plus!!

    should i do it??
