    Default Sidelights as DLR

Hi. Does anyone know how to use just the front sidelights as DLRs?

Ideally I'd like just the front sidelights to illuminate with the ignition key, I was gonna replace the existing bulb holders with some containing led bulbs and tuck the redundant holders out of the way, however this of course will trigger bulb failure warning. I can't exactly tuck the holders out of the way with bulbs in and empty they'd trigger bulb failure.

    Any ideas much appreciated.

I've tried it mate. Can't be done as far as I know.

You get the sidelights on with the ignition key, but the dips come on with the engine

    Unless anyone knows differently

When I had mine done by Vauxhall, they couldn't do sidelights only? The dips come on with the engine

    It is totally possible.

Do you want the tail lights on too, or just front side lights?

It may not be possible through programming the particular module, but it would be possible by just doing a little wiring.....

Fronts only. Don't see the point of rears for DLR. Happy to do wiring. Just need a way to do it without upsetting canbus bulb failure.

I wanted my rear lights on to. I agree can be done with wiring extra. But think I'll just stick to switching them on

I can't find a wiring diagram of the light switch so cannot tell you exactly which wires you need to connect to. I must have removed the program that I had, the one that has all the wiring diagrams and lots of other Technical Information about Vauxhall cars....

But, you just need to connect a switch live to the output wire of the light switch when side lights are selected (using a diode to prevent undesirable things happening if you switch the side lights on without ignition)

But, this will also power up all the normal lights that come on when sidelights are selected on the lightswitch.

Or the other way would be to take this switched live to the front lights and connect up with a diode connected into the existing wire. This will just power up the front side lights and the diode will prevent the rears. Not totally sure about bulb failure warning with this method though,
