    Default squeal

This is been goin on for over a yr but in mornings or after cars not been started in 8+hrs sounds like a squeal. Now I have just changed the aux belt its still there but not as bad .. reason I am posting this was I was driving and I put the car in 4th a tad early and had a bit of a squeal untill the revs got up to 1300+ so thought strange !! So got into 2nd and put it in 3rd early same squeal ... Does anyone know what this might be defo sounds like the belt side of the car pully. So it rules out the DMF I got done 15k ago... Any ideas guys .. aux tensioner? Hmmm doing my head in lol

You need to take the aux belt off and spin all the pulleys, one doesn't sound happy there... Trial and error bud, it is usually the tensioner or alternator however, but any stuff it rough moving could cause squeal...

    Default

Give the belt a squirt of WD40 with the engine running, see if the squeal goes away.

Are you sure its aux belt related?

When was the timing belt and w/pump last done?

To rule out one or the other - remove aux belt and run the car - see if the noise goes. If it does its aux belt related - if not, timing belt related. If the latter - get the timing belt kit and pump changed ASAP!!!!
