I can't believe that fetched that amout of money
They are over £100 frim stealers and hard to find. Don't think they help connection but found out they can update the phone module with tech 2 and sps that worked in mine all numbers go across now
I'm being very tempted by the iPhone 4 cradle even though it is about 100 squid...
Any links to these?
Blimey, thats expensive, what does the cradle do, is it just a holder & a charger lead?
You could also save a few ££ by doing a simple mod!
What i did, was take out the plastic piece which has the two locations for cups.
Using a hot knife, score along the edge, and then using a hacksaw chop out the part which is used to secure the cup in place (red circle).
Then fashion the inside of it to neaten it up (i used black tape).
Then ran a feed from the rear 12v ciggy lighter and put a 2 way ciggy lighter adaptor in the arm rest, with an iPhone cable plugged in.
Fashion a hole in the bottom of the cup holder so the iphone charge cable can be poked through. And Voila! A perfect place to put your iphone and charge it at the same time.
Ok, not the best mod in the world, but it works a treat. Iphone can be laid flat and the top lid closed, or it can be up at an angle if you so wish. Works fine for me as all call info is displayed on my CID using the factory Bluetooth connection.
in that case its not a bad price then i guess, I removed the generic cradle connection unit when I had the SRi Nav XP Estate as it just purley charged the phone, and at the time (April 2007) when I ordered the car i dont think there were many cradles about, I replaced it with cup holders..
I know its not a VXL but i added an iphone lead to the optional extras when i ordered the sport, it charges the iphone/ipod/ipad and you can access all music tracks, select and play them through the touchscreen headunit, and has a cradle that sits between the electric mini fridge and the armrest lid, total cost was a whooping £25!
