    Default When does the egr valve operate?

    Ok so I know they recirculate exhaust gas to reduce Nox but when do they operate? Do they open and close all the time when driving or just under set conditions?

    Simple answers would be great
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    On light throttle until they are open upto 4,000rpm. On full throttle they close after 2,000rpm.
    Insignia VX-Line Nav CDTI 170.

    I can only speak for the CDTI 150 as that's what I was told be a deisel specialist but I don't imagine others would be diiferent - by much.
