Well Id check the brake fluid level and if that's fine whip the front passenger wheel off and check the brake pads as this this is where the brake pad wear sensor is.

    You have an SRI
There are two brake warning lights

The smaller one is for the handbrake
Is it this one that has appeared?
If so, then it is the brake fluid level, and this warning light stays on once activited for low brake fluid level
It can often be a false reading when near the minimum and driving up or down severe gradients

The larger one will appear in the Rev Counter
Is it this one that has appeared?
If so, then it is (front nearside) brake pad sensor warning

Just purchase a good third party warranty, that covers both the DMF and clutch, and have it in place
That will then be cheaper and can then be used as other wear and tear items fail

My company has a tie-in with AA so I bought this before my car expired
The AA Repair Breakdown policy is ideal, just check the policy to ensure it covers DMF and respective clutch destruction
Phone any and all warranty companies you are considering, list the known issues to see if they cover them

worth giving them a ring m8 ...the AA usually have a seperate warrenty for parts covered, your probibly just on a breakdown one .
