I've got a 52 plate SXi, and recently started doing my own service.

    To reset Service Indicator:

    • Ignition OFF. The display in the speedometer must show the daily distance recorded.
    • Press and hold down reset button (trip odometer button)
    • Switch ignition ON and wait until the service interval display changes and keep the reset button held down for at least 3 seconds.

    Hope this helps.

I would seriously check wether it has actually been serviced before doing anything else.
New oil filter? The oil should be clean. Check plugs etc. Then take it back and moan.

After 4 months it ain't gonna be clean any more.

How many miles has he done? I do nearly 10,000 miles in 4 months, so if he's on fixed mileage service it could be right.

Probably is that the dealers forgot to reset the indicator - if it had been sat on the forecourt for a while, it's quite possible that it hadn't done it's full 10k/20k (whichever it was supposed to be) before it was serviced.

Yeah, another veccy which has been serviced "out of sync". When mine did it I just left it until the next service was due and they reset it then, now the light comes on at the right time
