    Default AA membership

Got my AA renewal through this week, i know those of you who would die before paying this money, but i am too old (47, lol) to fix broken stuff and don't want the calls at 2am from my son saying his car has broken down and needs a tow, ..............anyway family membership, , wife (Renault magan, pays for itself), son and me, £270 , did a RAC qoute on the net £165 (both roadside, homestart and recovery). Gave AA a call to explain it's too expensive. after the nice man going and lookng for deals on offers come back with £202, i then explained i had looked at RAC and the same cover was £165, "give me a second sir he said"............., i have had a chat with my manager and we can offer you £179, .......ok i said , so from £270 tp £179........, always worth a call, good luck

My gripe with this sort of carry-on is, why didn't they offer you
£179 in the first place? I hate it when a company will deliberately try and screw you out of money

    Good going though!

I threaten to cancel every year and it suddenly goes down by £100. Its crap, they should give you the best price first time round, bit like car insurance every year.

Don't get me started i'm part of the direct sales force for the AA, 8 hours a day in a high street getting badgered by people "ive been in for 50 years and never called them out and i pay this much" like its my personal fault! Grrrrrr, sorry rant over, but yes i join new members on family roadside relay homestart for £179 or £16.63 a month which IS the cheapest you can get that policy with the AA,(technically an inroductory offer!!!) and you did the right thing by ringing up to question them, but i cant sign up exisitng members i'd get very wrong indeed! Very frustrating sometimes when i'd like to help out! I have to be careful what i say here, but the product (patrols etc) is second to none, absolutely amazing, hence the great reputation but as for rewarding loyalty/admin side, seems to frustrate more members than it should be, but best advice i always give, is to give them a quick call if you arent happy with your renewal, and see if they'll help you out, and maybe reduce to an introductory offer if you have been paying for a few years and have been loyal,

I hope that sheds a little light

Indeed, I would and do vote with my feet, even if it means paying a little extra they would not get my cash.
