Default OpCom - what you can and can't mention?

If, like many on here, the mere mention of OpCom in threads/posts puts the fear of god into them, I'm sure we'd like a definitive answer on what you can and can't mention.

I appreciate what's in the forum rules:

    5. Copyright material

Discussion of copying, sharing or distribution of copyrighted material is forbidden. This includes such things as; CDs, Music Files, Movie Files, DVDs, Computer Software, Gaming Software, SatNav Discs, Vaux-Com/Op-Com, TIS and EPC Software.

Linking to sites that promote or host illegal copies of copyrighted software is also forbidden. Any such posts/threads will be removed, with a warning sent to the originator. Subsequent breaches of this rule may end up with posting privileges being removed.

The three key words appear to be "copying, sharing or distribution". But if a member writes "I've read my fault codes with Opcom" or someone suggests "read the fault codes with OpCom", where do Mods & Admin draw the line?

If there's a zero tolerance on the use of the word OpCom or any derivative (Op-Com, Op.Com etc), then surely this word should be banned in it's entirety from the forum. I guess, like many others on here, I daren't even type the word for fear of what might happen.

Just asking for clarification from the horse's mouth really .

    Thanks guys .

EDIT: Clarification from horse's mouth now posted.

Clearly, the rules of the site (which are fair) do not prohibit talking about using the programme - just the copying, distribution or sharing.

As I see it, as long as these 3 criteria are met, then open discussion of the use, limitations, benefits, uses, features etc are all ok.

Not really mate I've seen threads closed for people just talking about it.

Don't think this thread will be here long

Glad I didn't start this thread, I'd see an infraction coming from a mile away
