Sounds a bit steep to me, I'd have thought about £80 was about right.
Seems step for an hours work on a ramp
NOPE! new rear discs and pads supplied and fitted by my mechanic £140
sounds like 2 hours labour. Which to me doesn't sound that unreasonable. You could probably do it yourself in about an hour but they've probably added a little extra for "just in case". Not the best time of year to do them yourself though... (i'm not a lover of the cold lol).
A lot of garages will try an charge two hours for all four though.. If you guys can get it done for an hours labour I think I may get them to do it next time
think ill keep looking then, thats what i thought, 2 hrs tops, £55ph... its a DIY garage in leeds, they do car ramp hire for £8ph, i asked for a supervised visit with a mechanic where he can show me what to do, as i havnt got a clue, and they said that would be £110
Well, that is slightly different form them just doing the job. After all if you're on their property using their equipment and under their supervision then it will take a bit longer and you are their responsibility. Why not ask for time and supervision to do one, and then do the other three yourself.
£110 to learn how its done is a bargain.
Bring it to me next Sunday mate I will do it or this Sunday got a few lads of here comein next week it's easy and I will show you how
